How to compare day trips
A day trip fills most of your day, so the details matter more than for a city tour. Compare the total duration, the departure and return times, the meeting point or hotel pickup, and what is included at each stop.
- Duration and distance
- Hallstatt and Salzburg are long full-day trips; the Wachau valley and Bratislava are closer. Check the return time before you plan your evening.
- Pickup and meeting point
- Some trips include a hotel pickup, others start from a central meeting point. The event page names the exact place and time.
- Inclusions
- Check whether entrance fees, a boat ride, a guide or meals are included, and which costs you pay on the day.
Find the right option
Start with the date and venue, then check the programme, duration and price. The cheapest option is not always the best fit for your itinerary.
- Date
- Choose a date that fits your itinerary and check the local start time.
- Programme
- Programmes and inclusions can vary by performance. The event page gives the details for the selected date.
- Price
- Check the available categories and what is included in the ticket.
Practical planning
Allow time for travel, admission and the return journey. Central venues are usually easy to reach by underground and tram.
- Arrival
- Arrive about 30 minutes early, especially for historic buildings or guided tours.
- Tickets
- E-tickets arrive by email with your booking confirmation.
- Dress
- Smart casual suits most cultural experiences; specific organizer notes appear on the event page.
Who is it for?
Families, first-time visitors and experienced Vienna travellers have different priorities. Use the description to choose an option that fits your group.
- First visit
- Choose a central, easy-to-reach option with a clear duration and broad appeal.
- Culture fans
- Look at the venue, the ensemble, the works or the theme of a tour.
- Short on time
- Check the start time, the duration and the distance to your next stop.
Check before booking
Check the date, time, meeting point or hall and the selected category. This prevents surprises on the day.
- Details
- The event page has the binding details for the selected date.
- Getting there
- Allow for walks, stairs and possible queues in the city centre.
- Questions
- If your plans change or a question comes up, contact us as early as possible.
Your questions, answered
How do I choose the right option?
Compare the date, venue, programme, duration and price on the relevant event page.
How early should I arrive?
Arrive about 30 minutes before the start unless the event page says otherwise.
How will I get my tickets?
Your e-tickets arrive by email together with your booking confirmation, and your payment is only collected once the booking is confirmed. Simply show them on your phone or print them out — nothing is sent by post. If a venue issues its tickets at the box office instead, the event page says so.
What if my plans change?
Plans can change — just send us an email and we will help wherever the organizer allows it. Each organizer has its own conditions, which we summarize clearly for you.
