Die Fledermaus at the Vienna State Opera

Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus is the queen of Viennese operettas. At Prince Orlofsky’s glittering ball, everyone appears in disguise: Eisenstein flirts with his own wife, the chambermaid plays a countess, and Dr. Falke’s “revenge of the bat” unfolds over waltzes and champagne — until all is forgiven in the morning.

Your questions, answered

How will I get my tickets?

Your e-tickets arrive by email together with your booking confirmation, and your payment is only collected once the booking is confirmed. Simply show them on your phone or print them out — nothing is sent by post. If a venue issues its tickets at the box office instead, the event page says so.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive about 30 minutes before the start time on your ticket so you can find your seat without hurry.

How long does it last?

About 180 minutes, unless stated otherwise in the description.

Is there a dress code?

There is no formal dress code. Most guests wear smart casual clothing; evening wear is welcome but not required.

What if my plans change?

Plans can change — just send us an email and we will help wherever the organizer allows it. Each organizer has its own conditions, which we summarize clearly for you.
